Saddle up.

Install it in 30 seconds

1. Open VSCode. If it isn't installed yet, grab it at code.visualstudio.com — the saddle works in stable, insiders, and any VSCode-based fork (Cursor, Windsurf, etc.).
2. Open the Extensions panel. Ctrl+Shift+X on Windows/Linux, Cmd+Shift+X on macOS.
3. Click the "···" menu in the top-right of the Extensions panel and pick "Install from VSIX…"
4. Pick the file you just downloaded from your Downloads folder.
5. Look for the stirrup icon in the activity bar (left edge). Click it to open the saddle.

First dispatch

1. Make sure the companion is running. Tray icon should show the white stirrup. The saddle finds it automatically over the loopback bus — no config required.
2. Type a real prompt in the textarea at the top of the saddle panel. Something like "write a one-line bash command to find files larger than 100mb" works for the demo.
3. Hit Ctrl+Enter to send. The output channel opens automatically and streams the response. You'll see which worker handled it and which model it ran on.

What this isn't

Yesterday, the largest company in social media announced "personal superintelligence" — an AI built on the relationships and content already at the center of your life, available in private preview to select partners. It plans your Florida trip by mining where you've been, what you've bought, and who you follow.

The saddle you just installed is the opposite product, end to end. It runs on your machine. Your jobs route through your fleet. The SaaS sees presence and dispatch metadata, not content. There's no waitlist. There's no select partner program. There's the download button you just clicked.

They can know where you and your family are on vacation and sell that.
We don't care and can't even see that info.
